What I Saw in the Inauguration of the US President
As you know, a few days ago the US had its Presidential Inauguration.
I saw the parade and through the media. I thought the speech by the new president was simple. Since the elections, his speeches have been consistently simple.
This could be said for any election, but as important as it is to explain policies, it is the simplicity of the message that the voters receive that determines whether a politician gets elected.
At the inauguration, Trump continuously talked about “Making America Great Again” and “America First.”
The latter was heard at an election in Japan. Yes, “Tomin First.”
Those who figure out that simplicity of a message gets everyone’s attention wins it all.
Some news reported that the English of the new president was equivalent to that of a primary school student. We don’t know if that is a strategy or not.
However, voters consist of elites and many people who unfortunately could not receive education. For all kinds of people to understand and accept the policies, maybe it was necessary to use language that even primary school children could comprehend.
This is a little off track, but PPAP, who was an internet sensation and whose video “Pikotaro’s PPAP” went viral worldwide, used easy English. And it was appreciated by children and adults.
Behind the scenes of the inauguration, there were violent protests against the new president.
He got the most votes, so why is this happening?
What is going on with the US’s democracy…
There is yet much doubt towards the administration.
